Liturgical Ministers
The worship of God during the liturgy (the Mass) is a basic expression as a community of faith. It is only during the Mass that all parishioners of the Shrine Church of Our Lady of the Americas meet. The Mass is not only the starting point of our Christian life, the source of our strength and the basis of our encounter with God, but is also the end point of our Christian life, a foretaste of the celestial banquet where we will be united as One with God forever.
In the Shrine Church of Our Lady of the Americas, we recognize that, as Pope John Paul II said, “the Eucharist is a mystery of faith, a pledge of hope, and a source of charity with God and among men.” Therefore, worshiping in the liturgy is an expression of the best part of ourselves that we offer to God as a gift of sacrifice. It is also a means of involving all members of our community, so that they can be transformed by the power of God that is present in the communal experience of the liturgy.
We invite you to be part of our liturgical ministry, through roles including:
- Acolytes and/or Altar Servers
- Readers
- Eucharistic Ministers
- Sacristans
